Vintage Americana
Vintage Americana emerged in the early 2010s, popularized by artists like Lana Del Rey, and draws mainly on idealized American feminine dress of the 1950s and 1960s through a romanticized, sometimes melancholy lens. Traditional fabrics and cuts of those decades carry it, in red, white, and blue. Swing skirts and blouses with fitted bodices lead. Knee or tea-length skirts, sheath dresses, and pencil skirts follow. High waisted jeans, jean shorts, and denim jackets cover the casual end. Gingham, cherries, and hearts supply the prints, with heart-shaped sunglasses, bandanas, and retro bathing suits.
