Yuppie
Yuppie is short for young urban professional, a term coined in the 1980s for a young person working a white collar job in a city, and one that attracted backlash over gentrification. Suits made up most of the wardrobe, usually with shoulder pads. Both pantsuits and skirt suits were worn. Colors ran traditional, black, navy blue, and grey, though bolder shades appeared too, as the decade favored.
