Arts and Crafts was a late 19th-century British and American design reform movement founded by William Morris against industrial mass production, championing handcrafted goods, natural dye colors, and nature-derived ornament, and pushing fashion toward handmade artisanal textiles. Liberty of London floral-print silk blouses are the best-known garment. Hand-embroidered pieces carry stylized botanical motifs. Loosely structured Reform dress dispenses with corsetry, with smocking details and flowing linen skirts alongside. Natural dyes give the soft sage, rust, and peacock-blue palette, and jewelry is simple hand-hammered silver.
