2000's Preppy
2000s preppy is the mall-brand version of prep, popularized by Abercrombie and Fitch, Hollister, and American Eagle, who reworked traditional preppy dress into something looser and more playful. Colors, patterns, and cuts all loosened with it. Polo shirts, baby tees, slim fit tank tops, and fitted cardigans cover the tops. Low rise jeans sit alongside pleated and denim mini skirts. Babydoll and polo dresses handle the dressier end, with blazers or trench coats over them. Footwear ranges across loafers, ballet flats, sneakers, Uggs, and boots, and headbands finish the look.
