Art Academia
Art academia is a creative spin on dark academia centered on fine arts study and studio practice, romanticizing art schools, museums, and gallery spaces through paint-stained, expressive dress. Both emerged together on Tumblr and TikTok in the late 2010s. Paint- or charcoal-stained overalls are worn as a statement rather than hidden. Smocked artist smocks and loose-fit linen or cotton trousers cover the studio end. Gallery-appropriate blazers come with colored lining. Beret hats, art museum tote bags, chunky rings, and simple stacked bracelets complete it.
