Takenokozoku
Takenokozoku refers to the brightly colored, baggy outfits worn by dancers in Harajuku across the 1970s and 1980s. They performed traditional dances from Shinto festivals alongside those from hippie, countercultural, and disco traditions. Harem suits carried the look, jumpsuits with harem-like pants worn loosely. Bright colors dominated, red, pink, and violet among them, usually in cheap and gaudy materials.
