Italian Renaissance is a 15th and 16th-century aesthetic of humanism, artistic flourishing, and classical revival, the period that defined the Western art tradition. Richly embroidered doublets and gowns are the core garments. Gold brocade fabrics carry them. Puffed sleeves shape the shoulders. Jeweled headdresses sit on top, in the opulent register of Florence and Venice.
