Anglo Gothic
Anglo-gothic is a distinctly British take on gothic aesthetics, rooted in the literary tradition running from Horace Walpole and Mary Shelley to Bram Stoker and the foggy Victorian imagination. Dark romanticism meets an English sensibility of crumbling estate houses and moors. High-collared Victorian mourning dress comes in black silk or velvet. Lace-trimmed cuffs and jabots finish the neckline and wrists. Long structured frock coats go over the top. Jet or garnet jewelry, pale theatrical makeup, fingerless lace gloves, and leather boots with a period-appropriate heel complete it.
