Waif

Waif is an internet aesthetic that emerged in the early 2020s inside the coquette sphere, built around an archetype of a young woman who is wealthy, beautiful, and intelligent but also self-destructive and manipulative. Camisoles with black or white lace detailing carry it. Slip dresses, babydoll tops, and milkmaid blouses cover the rest, alongside baby tees and tight-fitting cardigans. Pleated skirts, plaid and check mini skirts, chiffon wrap skirts, and low-waisted jeans cover the bottoms. Schoolgirl uniforms turn up throughout. UGGs, leather patent heels, or ballet flats go below, with fur coats over the top.
