Uptown girl emerged in the early 2000s out of New York City, built on a polished, preppy look. Tailored clothing carries it, Chanel included. Classic dresses and silk blouses cover the rest. Plaid skirts handle the preppy end. White stockings cover the legs. High heels or mary janes go below, with pearl necklaces and headbands on top.
