Black Tie

Black tie is the formal evening dress code of tuxedos and floor-length gowns, established in the Victorian era and standardized in the early 20th century as the ceiling of formality. Floor-length ball gowns or tuxedos are the requirement. Silk or satin fabrics carry them. Opera gloves, formal heels or dress shoes, diamond or pearl jewelry, and elegant clutches complete the look.
