Casuals is a British football hooligan aesthetic of expensive sportswear and terrace fashion that emerged in the 1980s, pairing violence with an obsession over designer labels. The brands are the whole point. Lacoste, Stone Island, Aquascutum, Barbour, and Fila are the recurring names. Expensive casual clothing gets worn to football matches, where it functions as a marker of status.
