Taqwacore

Taqwacore is a Muslim subgenre of punk, its name a portmanteau of hardcore and taqwa, meaning piety. Outfits combine two wardrobes. Traditional Muslim clothing carries one half, through hijabs, scarves, and modest dressing. Punk carries the other, through jeans, black clothing, and band tees.
