Naarmcore emerged in the early 2020s from Melbourne, Australia, taking its name from Naarm, the Aboriginal word for the Melbourne region. Aboriginal Australians have criticized the trend for cultural appropriation. The clothing itself is utilitarian. Puffer jackets and cargo pants make up the core of it.
