Gyaru

Japanese street fashion subculture featuring tanned skin, dramatic makeup, and blonde hair. Emerging in 1990s Shibuya, gyaru rebelled against traditional Japanese beauty standards. Common pieces include extremely bleached or colorful hair, circle lenses, platform shoes, miniskirts, tight crop tops, heavy tan makeup, and rhinestone accessories.
