Gyaru
Gyaru is a Japanese street fashion subculture of tanned skin, dramatic makeup, and blonde hair, emerging in 1990s Shibuya as a rebellion against traditional Japanese beauty standards. Extremely bleached or colorful hair is the immediate marker. Circle lenses change the eyes. Miniskirts and tight crop tops make up the garments. Platform shoes go below, with heavy tan makeup and rhinestone accessories.
