Diner Kitsch
This is a design aesthetic originating in the 1970s, featuring a revival of 1940s-1950s iconography, especially those associated with diner, drive-in, and malt shop culture. Likewise, outfits are also inspired by this iconography, with outfits heavily featuring red and white, often in striped, gingham, or checkerboard patterns on a-line dresses. Modern interpretations may modify the colors, patterns or silhouettes, but will often keep at least one of these elements.
